A Solid Foundation
KISS is a pretty good idea, particularly with knives. Simplifying the selection is key to making better purchase decisions. The benefits of carbon over stainless will make your purchase decision more practice based than decorative. After all, you aren’t buying them to look at them are you?

Outstanding
Wow. Totally astounded by the course content and the teacher’s clarity. I had never heard of the low and high cuts. Loved the pepper coring approach and the avocado pit trick. I’ve taken a two knife skills classes in person and this one was a great addition, and possibly the best. My only suggestion would be to ensure students learn how to hold the knife. By placing two fingers on the blade, the knife becomes an extension of your arm, making it much easier to control. Thank you chef!

Wish I had this class years ago
This class was so helpful. I learned more about kitchen knives, the ones that are really needed and the ones that are less so. It was good to find out the different cuts, different uses, helpful tips and just an overall great presentation for the benefit of the average cook and their knives. It would be helpful to pre-teens that are wanting to learn their way around the kitchen. I strongly recommend this for anyone that cooks! The instructor has a soft voice, is pleasant and offers useful information in a positive manner. I am watching it again to ingrain my new skills!

Learned So Much
From watching many cooking programs on TV, I really thought I had managed to learn knife skills. Hoo boy! Was I wrong! The only thing I do correctly is breaking down an avocado. This class taught me so so much, now all I want to go and do is cook stuff just so I can practice these skills. This course has so much information that it is surprising that it is free. Thank you so much.

No Onion, No Cry…yea,yeah.
Perfect. I thought I knew how to cut onions properly. I have watched tv networks of chefs cut onions a billion times, right! After taking this craftsy class I will never poke and guillotine my onion ever again. It is onion abuse and it’s karma makes you cry. I really like the kiwi cut and scoop with a spoon. It doesn’t waste the fruit and less fuzzy to go back and cut off. All this learning makes want to make a fruit tart.
