Notepad as IDE
Very bad first impression. its really not hard explaining how to create an program in eclipse

Great Course
Everything you need to know about Java in a clear and concise manner. Well done!

Very good instructor
Very good instructor very good and structured content made nice and easy! Would be even better if Netbeans IDE was used instead of Notepad.

Awesome course. 100% completed.
I enjoyed this course very much. The instructor’s straightforward and simple explanations made learning Java fun. The key to success in this course is to understand practice typing the example programs that the instructor shows us then after you feel comfortable with the concepts use them to write small programs that you like or want to try. And using notepad will help you to not only learn the concepts in Java typing code on a blank canvass over and over will help you retain what you are learning. Netbeans and Eclipse are great but learn to code with notepad first this will help you in many ways. Good luck!

Can be better
Coming from Python I was pretty familiar with most of the programming concepts. The course covers pretty much most of the basics and run through at a easy-to-follow pace. The only thing I think is missing is exercises. There are lots of the so called exercises in the course are actually examples where the lecture runs you through the whole thing. A good exercise should allow to write your own program from scratch with your creativity and give you hints where necessary.

I don’t believe in using the cmd prompt and notepad in programming java.
Now don’t get me wrong I do believe the instructor does know what he is talking about but with the teaching of using notepad and the cmd promt feels to me like and outdated method. I am currently learning java with eclipse and with online tutorials that seem to provide a much better learning resource with the use of eclipse.

Great instruction style
I really enjoyed this class for a few reasons:
1.) He goes through each thing step by step and if you follow along you should never be lost.
2.) He explains the "why" for almost everything he does when it is appropriate to the lesson.
3.) He shows us his mistakes and corrects them on screen.
#3 was the thing that really won me over for this course. I can’t believe how valuable it was to watch somebody else make the mistakes and show how to correct them. It takes away the feeling of "oh god I’ll never figure out what I did wrong" when you see a bunch of error messages by showing you that it all is most likely a simple typo and that anyone could make.

Very Easy to Understand
I would recommend this course to everyone who are interested in Java Programming. It’s easy to understand because you are going to download resource files that you can also play with and he is transparent in his errors so that we will know how to fix a kind of error if we experience it ourselves.

Good Introductory course
I was trying to brush up on my Java and figured this course would help me remember key features and such. The instructor is very good at what he does. My only criticism is sometimes it would be better to explain what the problem is before starting to write the code to give the trainee some idea of what you’re trying to achieve.
Overall very good tutorial!

Not enjoying this at all
I was excited to take this course and I know a fair amount about computers. But the PATH environment and Java command instruction portion of lessons 5-7 skip MANY steps. As someone that used to use dos a lot years ago this totally lost me.
The course description says you just need a basic understanding of computers and file navigation. This is not true.
I am glad I didn’t pay much for this. I am sure I will figure this out but the attention to detail of the early lessons does not make me feel confident about what is to come.

I love the entire course and learn a lot
It’s a great resource for beginners like me I recommend this entire course for everyone who wants to take Java programming.

Notepad? Really?
The instructor doesn’t seem like he’s completely incompetent but everything he shows you is in Notepad and he sometimes seems like he’s not sure what he really wants to do.

short and to the point videos.
you are a really good teacher. Thanks for making such an amazing tutorial series

Even better than what I learnt in college
This is seriously by far the best Java tutorial I came across. I’ve been able watch until lecture 22 and I’ve to admit that I’m %100 satisfied so far! Well it’s true that the concepts are not that easy to understand for absolute beginners even though they are explained very well. To comprehend the whole idea behind scenes I think each individual should ask questions themselves and seek answers. The important thing here is not just learning java but also comprehending the programming logic and object oriented paradigm. If you can understand this you can learn any other language easily as well. Make sure to practice anything you learn from the tutorial as many times as you need to understand the logic. Good Job Infinite Skills!

Great course
This course is really perfect for those who are new to java.

An enjoyable way to learn Java for the first time!
This is my first udemy experience and I’ve found this Java class to be very easy to follow. At times I need to pause the lectures and catch up or type things in. This is easy enough. All in all I really like this a lot compared to driving to a school and being in a large classroom. The instructor explains clearly shows common mistakes and establishes the basics of Java nicely. I would recommend this to a friend!
(Udemy Review)
Very well explained
The content was explained well and covered what needed to be taught.
The only issue I had with the course was it was all work along with the instructor. I would have preferred if the exercises were initially provided in problem form so that I could have attempted the exercise prior to seeing the results.
A simple introduction page to the exercises displaying the objectives of the program with a short delay to allow the student to pause the lecture and try the exercise first. They could then watch the lecture and see where they went wrong or how it could have been done more efficiently.
(Udemy Review)
Very Clear Explanation – Easy to Follow
Everything is explained step by step. There’s no guessing about why something is done a certain way. You always know exactly what you’re trying to accomplish in each lesson and why the code does or does not work.
(Udemy Review)
Great info!
In my previous Java course I learned Java using Eclipse. The fact that we are using Java via command line boggles the mind!
(Udemy Review)
Really good – but not $100’s worth
The content for this course is really good but it’s probably better if you wait for a discount on this course as $100 is just really steep. It’s a very thorough review of all the major building blocks of the Java language. If you’ve dabbled in other languages then some of the lessons will feel a bit tedious but overall the info is pretty concise.
One issue I had is that the author either has lots of code queued up to copy/past or seems to speed the video up as some of the code examples are blazingly fast as far as typing speed goes. Another is that this course is a video tutorial to its core; if you want to solve some of the programming challenges/exercises on your own then be prepared to pause the video and do things on your own. This totally isn’t a big deal just something to think about as far as teaching style goes. Do you want to be shown everything or do you want to have a guided tour of a language while you figure some things out for yourself?

A good intro course on Java
I haven’t coded in well over ten years and was looking to get back into it. I last coded in C and C++ and that old knowledge came in handy as I found many similarities between those languages and Java. I also wanted to take this course to prepare me for coding in Android and now I feel I have a good refresher base to move forward with.
(Udemy Review)
WOW!!!
I have just started the Java class. I have been studying Java for some time since being exposed to in while in school. I only wished i had learned of this method before i had invested so much money into the number of books i had bought. This system is amazing and i find progressing at my pace is the best teaching method. So far the experience is great.
(Udemy Review)
Excellent
I am about halfway through the course and I have found it to be an excellent source of instruction in Java. Professor McMillin has a very good teaching style. I appreciate how he leaves his mistakes in the lessons nice to know everyone makes mistakes and the process of fixing them is invaluable!
(Udemy Review)
Good course
Really good course recommended I like the way how to the lecturer include mistakes he make build your skills and knowledge from nothing to be able to start using your java from mobile web etc.
(Udemy Review)
Very Good Basic Concepts
It was amazing that he including polymorphism I did not understand it until this guy explained it very well!
(Udemy Review)
A brand new understanding of java.
Before I took this course Programing in general was like french. I am only half way through this course and I have a brand new understanding.
Each lecture is detailed and it is all very easy to understand. I can’t wait until I start making my own programs. Thanks for and excellent job
(Udemy Review)
Just wow.
I actually REALLY enjoy this I'm enjoying how much fun it is to learn Java with this guy as my instructor he's funny interesting to listen to and goes over the mistakes he makes so that I'm able to learn not only from my own mistakes but his as well. That is wonderful.

Excellent Course – better than a classroom course
I’ve been through 46 lectures so far and wish all my college and graduate courses had been offered in this format (and taught by Mike McMillan!). He dives into the meat of the topic no long-winded digressions no classroom diversions. I can pause to take extensive notes replay if I want hear what he said again and revisit any lecture any time. I love that Mike doesn’t edit out his mistakes but instead shows us the common gotchas that even experienced programmers like him run into. I also love that he uses the cmd prompt to compile and run the program. (I first tried to learn java using a book and NetBeans and subsequently never fully grasped the basic java environment). Excellent excellent course worth every penny.

Java for Beginners
Excellant course!! Instructor has a deep knowledge of the language and compiler. This is especially helpful when deciphering application behavior. Highly recommended..
(Udemy Review)
Great Beginner Course!
This course is definitely useful for beginners. Without any prior extensive knowledge of computer languages you can easily learn how to begin programming in Java. It walks you through everything and is much easier to learn than using simple books or online written guides. Definitely recommend it!
(Udemy Review)
I have gone through about 10 Chapters at the moment and I only have good things to say about this course. The videos are easy to follow and the instructor is professional and knowledgeable. I wish I had access to such resources when I first started programming!
(Udemy Review)
Good solid beginner class
Java For Beginners is quite good. As with many things you will get out of it what you put into it. The instructor is clear and gives some solid practical examples and even provides some alternatives with explanations of why or why not to use that approach. There are a couple of nice things to note. 1) The instructor shows all of his code using nothing more than Notepad on Windows Vista. This shows that Java doesn’t require any fancy IDE. This effectively makes the lessons accessible to anybody with a text editor and maybe an abacus. 2) The instructor makes the occasional mistake and openly discusses the error. This is GOLD. Debugging something is essential and watching an experienced developer slog though it is exactly the kind of thing a new programmer needs to see. I believe that you will get the most out of the lessons by watching the videos and actually coding pausing the video as needed. You’ll make the same errors as the instructor and see the same solutions. There is great value there. I followed the lessons on a Linux system using the Eclipse IDE. This was admittedly kind of a shortcut but I’ve been to this particular rodeo before
Java for Beginners
This course is very good for people who have basics in computer language and wants to enter into JAVA world !!!!
