I’ve been an IT operations professional by trade and I’ve always wanted to really dig in my heels and learn how to develop software. I’d registered for this course quite some time ago but hadn’t the motivation to finish it until now. And now that I have I can truly say that this course teaches all of the core skills you need to know to begin coding and understanding the pythonic way of software development. Clear easy to understand.

I found this course well presented and logical. The ability to open (and modify) the code (I use notepad ++) makes it easy to understand too.

Only criticism is the closed captions – interesting spelling and punctuation!

A very good basic course

overall very good. excellent examples covers a large range of topics. the object oriented stuff was very good i thought. the only weird thing is he bounced around in python 3 and 2.7 so watch out for

Python Programming Tutorial

I am a programming novice. I feel that this course was for someone with more programming experience than me. I would have like the general programming basics/concepts to be explained a little more clearly.

It would also be nice if the instructor revisited some of the lectures or put notes in for things that may have or have changed since these lectures were posted i.e. raw_input() vs. input() etc…

Material is presented quickly – does not waist time to the point

This was a great course. I have limited in my schedule to go through classes and training. This course covers the basics of Python quickly and stays on point very well. The teacher displays his years of experience teaching in this course as he quickly works through the material. The voice is pleasant clear and easy to understand. I am a audio learner primarily so this point is important to me.

Conclusion: This course was worth my time spent learning the basics of Python. I really like how easily objects are explained.

Having a programming background in PHP this course was in some cases a bit easy since I already had a general understanding of several topics.

Still I found it very use full to go trough all the lectures since the pace of the lectures is very good. Even if you’re a beginner in all of this everything is very well explained.

Great for beginners

This was my introduction to programming and I was surprised how easy it was to pick up. The course is well paced to introduce you to the basics of programming and Python. I was able to fly through this easily without feeling like I missed anything.

The only thing I thought was missing was some more exercises to put what you’ve learned to use but you can find these online easily enough.

Well the ultimate it is not but I liked it

This is what I needed an introductory course. I have taken several of his courses I looped you might say. They are fast moving and you have to be sharp to proceed w/o relisting. Worth the value for me. If you are an accomplished python coder look elsewhere. The method of videos is worthy and I drop back to the course outline to check a procedure similar to a textbook. Simple and to the point! I can’t say this is the "ultimate" tutorial though. It covers all the "basics" and that’s fine. Personally I had no idea of Python before and now I consider myself ready to read and write python’s code using a manual.

Half way through good for reference

I am new to programming have looked through tons of documentation. Not all things make sense. This Python Tutorial is good at explaining how and why things work. I really like this on Udemy because I can come back for refresher sessions on the things (such a functions) that I cannot remember. There are plenty of examples documented on the Internet but they don’t explain why. I see this course as a good interactive reference.

Great Course

I got this course for $10 due to a special promotion and it was worth every penny. I went to relatively expensive schools and when I compare the $3000 per class I paid as an undergrad or $5000 per class for my MBA courses like this come pretty close to optimizing the value=benefits/price equation. I am 12 lessons away from finishing and while not a master in python by any means I can follow what is going and am better able to keep up with other classes on Coursera Udemy and Udacity that require basic programming. .

Great course and fantastic lecturer

I really enjoyed this course and found it very useful for understanding the building blocks of Python. I have limited programming experience and none in Python and I found the content and exercises straight forward and easy to follow. I really liked the excercise and the recap of each programming example given by Mike.

Great class for learning about python

This is a great class to learn about Python. Whether you are a beginner or a seasoned professional looking to brush up on your technical skills with the basics.

The one thing i enjoy about this class is the easy to follow and understand teaching methods that are used. Plus the instructor goes through the programming with you while you are coding out the various programs so its a more personal approach. The nice thing to see is also the various errors or mistakes that can happen. It helps to show you what you can expect and give you something to remember if you run into it out on your own too.
